Alexandra Restrepo is a self-taught artist and designer residing in sunny Sacramento, California. Born into a pragmatic household, she expressed creativity early as a child but struggled to understand how to use these interests. On her path to discovery, Alexandra earned her Bachelors of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of California, Davis. It was in her final quarter there that she took her first oil painting course and fell in love.

Yet, she would encounter several twists and turns before she hit her artistic stride. The next 10 years brought the unexpected loss of one of her siblings, marriage, entrepreneurship, several moves, and new motherhood. Through these unique seasons, Alexandra continued her creative journey, working in photography, videography, food styling, art therapy, and, ultimately, as a freelance graphic designer. In this role, she made her first t-shirt line for a non-profit, awakening in her a great love for art, fabric, and fashion.

In 2016, Alexandra found her sweet spot - illustration. And so began a period of creative rebirth. But, just as her world was being reborn in spring the following year, Alexandra's father suddenly passed away. His last card to her, which read, "I love your eye for colors, and your creativity," would, in the months following, build in her a fierce resolve to create and celebrate life's joys.

Alexandra's art is influenced by these themes - joy, gratitude, freedom, humor, and whimsy. Her love for bold color makes her paintings rich and alive. She works primarily in acryla gouache to create a variety of products from art prints, to surface patterns, children’s books, and more. 

Alexandra collaborated with Jesus Culture in 2019 and 2020. Her work may be found on their social media platforms as well as seasonal art installations for the local church, Jesus Culture Sacramento.
